Toccoa Riverside Restaurant in Georgia charges $50 more for families with unruly kids.
Tim Richter, the owner, said he was tired of kids climbing on furniture and screaming.
Thus, he added "bad parenting" charge to discourage people with unruly kids from coming.
The surcharge was added to the menu in 2020 but only threatened to be charged.
It caught attention again on October 24 after a Reddit user shared a menu screenshot.
One customer, who went there with kids, said the surcharge was meant as a “joke”.
The average full-service restaurant generates $1.16 million in annual revenue in Georgia.
