Zendaya Maree Stoermer Coleman was born on September 1, 1996, in, California to Claire Stoermer and Kazembe Ajamu Coleman. Right from when she was 6 years old, she appeared in a play for Black History Month.
She even performed at the California Shakespeare Theater where her mother worked as the house manager. That worked to her advantage as Zendaya helped sell fundraising tickets and was, hence, inspired to pursue an acting career.
Her professional career kicked off with modeling and appearing in ads for Macy’s, Old Navy, and iCarly-related merchandise.

In 2010, Zendaya began her career by starring in the series ‘Shake It Up’, which aired 75 episodes over three seasons. She then worked on ‘Good Luck Charlie’.
She went on to host the Disney Channel’s ‘Make Your Mark: Ultimate Dance Off’ and voiced Fern in ‘Pixie Hollow Games’. The next year she starred in the movie ‘Frenemies’ by Disney and even released the album ‘Zendaya’ that landed #51 on the Billboard 200 chart.

In 2011, she has released “Swag It Out” and “Watch Me” with Bella Thorne .

Philanthropy
