How to watch 2023 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade for free

The 97th annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade has returned to the streets of New York City.

For the first time in its long history, the holiday tradition will begin at 8:30 am ET on Nov 23.

The scheduled time is half an hour earlier than in previous years.

Grammy-winner and multi-instrumentalist Jon Batiste will kick off the festivities.

The parade will be hosted by Today's Savannah Guthrie, Hoda Kotb and Al Roker.

Performers will include Jon Batiste, Brandy, Chicago, En Vogue,  Ashley Park with the cast and Pentatonix.

Cher will make her appearance just before the parade's end.

This year's parade will feature 16 giant character balloons, 26 floats, 32 novelty and heritage inflatables.

It will have 12 marching bands, 700 clowns and eight performance groups.

The parade will stream on NBC, Peacock and as a Spanish-language broadcast on Telemundo.

A Peacock Premium subscription costs $6 a month for the ad-based version, and $12 a month for Premium Plus.
