SpaceX is scheduled to launch Ireland's first satellite, EirSat-1, from Florida end of November.
The launch will use a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket, carrying three science payloads.
University College Dublin students built the satellite as part of an ESA program.
The project has helped Ireland establish its first spacecraft operations procedures.
It will provide broadband internet access to rural and underserved areas of Ireland.
University College Dublin also has space infra — a cleanroom and a mission control.
The cost of the project, including the launch, is estimated to be $21 million.
