Wilma Mankiller has joined the ‘Inspiring Women’ lineup of Barbie dolls.
She was the first woman to serve as principal chief of the Cherokee Nation.
She was also a fierce advocate for Native American, women’s, and children’s rights.
In 1998, she was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
Barbie introduced a Wilma Mankiller doll on Nov 7 to honor her after she passed away in 2010 at 64.
The doll features a bright turquoise dress and holding a light brown woven basket.
According to Mattel, the doll was designed by Carlyle Nuera and cost $35.
