Why Starbucks is increasing hourly wages, benefits for workers

JOBS

Starbucks has announced that from Jan 1, eligible employees will get a 3-5% hourly wage rise.

This, however, depends on how long they’ve been working at the company.

In the US, those who work at Starbucks as retail hourly members will have a 3% increase.

If they have worked in the company for 2-5 years, they will have a 4% increase.

Those who have served the company for five or more years will see a 5% hike.

New employees will see faster Paid Time Off accumulation starting from January 1.

They will be able to start increasing time off just 90 days after initially being hired.

Employees who have been unionized will not be eligible for all the new benefits.

The coffee chain has a net worth of $118.46 billion as of November 2023.
