Dolly Parton's Imagination Library: How to get FREE book

CELEBRITIES

Dolly Parton's Imagination Library is now available in Missouri.

The library launched on Nov 8 by Missouri's Department of Elementary and Secondary Education Office of Childhood.

Parents can enroll their child between infancy and their fifth birthday to get a free book.

The first book every child receives is The Little Engine That Could by Watty Piper.

While the last book they receive is Look Out Kindergarten, Here I Come! By Nancy Carlson.

The program is already in effect statewide in Kansas.

Missouri is the 14th state to commit to a statewide program, and the first to launch with full funding.

As part of the state's fiscal year 2024 budget, $11 million was allocated for the expansion.

Missouri's state funding will cover the cost of distributing the books to each child - $26 a year.
