The Paramount movie is a big screen version of the ‘Mean Girls’ musical from Broadway.
The musical closed in 2020. The new film borrows the same story from the original 2004 film.
The 2004 film starred Lindsay Lohan, Rachel McAdams, Amanda Seyfried, and Lacey Chabert.
Lohan, who became a millionaire after the film, was paid $1 million for her role as Cady.
The film grossed $130.1 million worldwide and has become a cult classic ever since.
The musical got 12 Tony Award nominations, including Best Leading Actress and Best Book of a Musical.
The new musical movie will be released in theaters on Jan 12, 2024. Angourie Rice stars as Cady.
