ENTERTAINMENT

Disney and Hulu will be one app soon, and there are several reasons for it.

Disney recently announced plans to buy the remaining 33% stake in Hulu from Comcast for $8.6B.

Disney is already a majority shareholder of Hulu. It offers streaming services: Disney+ and ESPN+.

Merging Disney+ and Hulu will allow Disney to save money on overhead costs.

It is unclear what the pricing will be. Disney has said that it will be "more attractive."

Disney Plus has increased its revenue by 42% in 2022, generating over $7 billion.

Disney has been losing subscribers. By merging Disney+ and Hulu, it hopes to attract new subscribers.

Disney surpassed 150M subscribers this quarter, with streaming losses shrinking to $387M.

A recent evaluation of Hulu, pegged the streaming service's value at $27.5 billion.
