Best Gas Station Loyalty Programs Ranked by Actual Savings in 2026

Best Gas Station Loyalty Programs Ranked by Actual Savings in 2026

Gas Station Loyalty Programs

When gas is expensive, loyalty programs stop being a nice extra and start becoming part of your budget strategy.

That is especially true right now. AAA’s national average for regular gas was $4.091 per gallon on April 3, 2026, after jumping from $3.109 a month earlier. The Energy Information Administration said in March that Brent crude had surged following conflict-related disruptions in the Middle East and forecast it would stay above $95 per barrel for the next two months before easing later in 2026.

So which gas station loyalty programs are actually worth using? For this ranking, we focused on free, station-branded loyalty programs and ranked them by real-world value: everyday cents-off potential, intro value, ease of keeping the savings, and any meaningful gallon caps or friction. We did not use paid memberships or co-branded credit cards to set the main order, though we mention them where they materially improve the program.

The Ranking at a Glance

Our 2026 ranking for actual savings looks like this:

  1. 7-Eleven 7Rewards Fuel Savings
  2. bp Earnify
  3. Shell Fuel Rewards
  4. Circle K Inner Circle
  5. Exxon Mobil Rewards+

Speedway Speedy Rewards gets an honorable mention, but we left it out of the main ranking because its fuel value is more point-based and less transparent in cents-per-gallon terms than the programs above.

1) 7-Eleven 7Rewards Fuel Savings

This is the strongest overall program in the ranking if you want straightforward, ongoing value without having to work too hard for it.

7-Eleven says new users get 11 cents off per gallon on their first 7 fills, and members get at least 5 cents off per gallon on every fill after that. It also says discounts can stack up to $1 off per gallon on purchases up to 25 gallons, and community discounts are available through ID.me for groups like teachers, military members, first responders, students, and medical workers. On top of that, its Gold Pass subscription can add an extra 5 cents per gallon, though I did not use that paid add-on to determine the ranking.

Why it ranks first: the floor is strong. A free member can reliably get 5 cents or more off per gallon without needing premium fuel, a big annual spend threshold, or a complex qualification cycle. That makes it the most usable program for ordinary drivers.

The catch is availability. The fuel savings apply at participating 7-Eleven fuel locations, so it is only great if a 7-Eleven station is already part of your routine.

2) bp Earnify

bp Earnify is probably the easiest major-brand program to understand. bp says Earnify users get an always-on 5 cents off every gallon, plus 1 point per dollar spent on fuel and 2 points per dollar spent in the convenience store. New users also get a 250-point welcome offer and double points for the first 90 days after registration.

Why it ranks second: it combines simplicity with a strong everyday value. You do not need to chase tiers or maintain a qualification cadence to keep the 5-cent discount alive. That makes it a very practical everyday program.

Why it is not first: the upside is not quite as exciting as 7-Eleven’s combination of everyday savings, intro value, and stackable extras. Also, bp’s grocery-partner fuel points cannot be combined with Earnify, which limits how much stacking you can do inside the bp ecosystem.

3) Shell Fuel Rewards

Shell Fuel Rewards is one of the most powerful programs in the market, but it is not as effortless as the top two.

Shell says its tier savings are 3 cents per gallon for Silver, 5 cents for Gold, and 10 cents for Platinum. New members start with complimentary Gold status, but to keep Gold you need at least six fill-ups of 10 gallons or more during the qualification period. To reach Platinum, you need 12 qualifying fill-ups, or 6 fill-ups of at least 10 gallons using Shell V-Power premium. Shell also says tier-only rewards can be redeemed on up to 35 gallons, but if you stack additional Fuel Rewards offers on top of the tier discount, the cap drops to 20 gallons.

Why it ranks third: the upside is excellent, especially for engaged Shell users. Platinum at 10 cents per gallon is the strongest free everyday tier in this ranking, and Shell’s partner offers can stack on top. Shell also says app users paying with Shell S Pay can get 10 cents per gallon for Silver and Gold members, or 15 cents for Platinum members, which is impressive even though that is more of a payments-and-app feature than pure loyalty.

Why it is not higher: the ongoing value for casual users can fall to 3 cents per gallon, which is weaker than bp or 7-Eleven. Shell is excellent for people who fill there often and can maintain status, but not quite as strong for low-effort users.

4) Circle K Inner Circle

Circle K Inner Circle is better than many people realize. Circle K says new members get 25 cents off per gallon on their first 5 fuel-ups. After that, standard members get 3 cents off every gallon every day, up to 35 gallons, while Premium members get 5 cents off every gallon after spending $500 per year on eligible purchases.

Why it ranks fourth: the intro offer is strong and the ongoing structure is easy to understand. If Circle K is on your normal route, the program is simple, friction-light, and valuable enough to matter.

Why it is not higher: the standard everyday savings floor is only 3 cents per gallon, and the 5-cent tier requires hitting an annual spend threshold. That makes it a little weaker than bp and 7-Eleven for the average user.

5) Exxon Mobil Rewards+

Exxon Mobil Rewards+ is a solid program, but its core fuel value is a little less punchy than the programs above unless you buy premium or actively stack other Exxon-linked benefits.

Exxon says Rewards+ members earn 3 cents per gallon or more in points on gas, and 6 cents per gallon in points on Exxon Supreme+ or Mobil Supreme+ premium. New members can get 15 points per gallon for 30 days plus a 100-point bonus. Exxon also says users can stack benefits with things like Direct Debit+, AARP, premium fuel, and Frequent Filler status, reaching up to 20 cents per gallon in total benefits in some cases.

Why it ranks fifth: the program has real potential, especially for premium-fuel users or people willing to stack Exxon’s other tools.

Why it lands below the others: for regular-gas drivers using only the free loyalty layer, 3 cents per gallon in points is not as competitive as 5 cents from bp or 7-Eleven. It is good, but not the strongest core everyday program on its own.

Honorable Mention: Speedway Speedy Rewards

Speedway is popular, but we did not include it in the main ranking because its official program is less transparent in direct per-gallon savings.

Speedway says members earn 10 points per gallon on fuel and 20 points per dollar on merchandise, and points can be redeemed for free gasoline and merchandise. The problem is that Speedway’s public materials are much more points-heavy than cents-off-heavy, so comparing it apples-to-apples against 5-cent or 10-cent fuel discounts is harder.

Which Program Is Best for Different Types of Drivers?

If you want the easiest everyday free savings, bp Earnify and 7-Eleven are the cleanest options because both offer a 5-cent everyday floor without requiring you to sustain a tier.

If you are a heavy loyalist to one station and you like maximizing tiers, Shell may be the most rewarding because Platinum delivers 10 cents per gallon before partner stacking.

If you live near Circle K and just want a simple program with a good intro offer, Inner Circle is very usable.

If you buy premium often, Exxon Mobil Rewards+ becomes much more interesting because of the 6-cents-in-points premium earning rate.

Where Beem Fits

Beem does not belong inside this ranking because it is not a gas-station loyalty program. But it can still be useful alongside one.

Beem’s cashback page says users can explore discounts on gas and other categories, and get cashback rewards added instantly into the Beem Wallet. That makes Beem more of a cashback layer than a station-tied loyalty layer. In practice, that can be useful if you do not want to be locked into one chain or if you want another way to offset fuel costs beyond the station program itself.

And if the issue is not just saving on gas but actually covering a tank before payday, that is where Everdraft™ becomes the more relevant Beem feature. Beem’s official page says eligible users can access up to $1,000 instantly, with no interest, no credit checks, and no income restrictions.

Our Final Ranking

If we had to boil it down to the simplest possible answer:

Best overall: 7-Eleven 7Rewards
Best for simplicity: bp Earnify
Best for power users: Shell Fuel Rewards
Best if Circle K is your regular stop: Inner Circle
Best for premium-fuel Exxon users: Exxon Mobil Rewards+

Conclusion

If you are looking for the best gas station loyalty programs ranked by actual savings in 2026, the biggest takeaway is this: the best program is not always the one with the flashiest maximum. It is the one that gives you strong everyday value at the station you actually use.

That is why 7-Eleven comes out on top for us, followed by bp Earnify, then Shell for people willing to work the tier system. Circle K and Exxon Mobil Rewards+ are still worth joining if those stations are already part of your route, but their base value is not quite as strong for the average driver.

And with national gas prices still above $4 a gallon in early April 2026, even a few cents per gallon is worth caring about now.

FAQs

1. What is the best gas station loyalty program in 2026?

For most drivers, I would put 7-Eleven 7Rewards first because it offers 11 cents off per gallon on the first 7 fills and at least 5 cents off per gallon on every fill after that, without requiring a qualification cycle to keep the everyday value.

2. Which gas loyalty program gives the biggest everyday discount?

On a free-program basis, Shell Platinum is the biggest everyday tier in this group at 10 cents per gallon, but it requires maintaining Platinum status. For a simpler no-tier everyday floor, 7-Eleven and bp both sit at 5 cents per gallon.

3. Is Shell Fuel Rewards better than bp Earnify?

It depends on how engaged you are. Shell has higher upside because Platinum pays 10 cents per gallon and partner offers can stack, but bp Earnify is easier to keep because it offers a flat 5 cents per gallon without tier maintenance.

4. Why is Exxon Mobil Rewards+ ranked lower?

Because its core free-program value on regular gas is 3 cents per gallon or more in points, which is weaker than the everyday 5-cent floor offered by bp and 7-Eleven. Exxon becomes more competitive if you buy premium or stack its other Exxon-specific benefits.

5. Should I use a gas loyalty program and a cashback tool together?

Yes, when the terms allow it. A station loyalty program lowers the direct pump cost, while a cashback tool can help reduce the net cost further. That is the main way a product like Beem fits into the picture.
