$6.7 billion! You read that right! And the most popular foods eaten on Independence Day are unsurprisingly grilled: hotdogs, hamburgers, chicken and BBQ.

Break it down further, do the math and you’ll know that an average of $73.33 is spent per person on food. That even beats high-end restaurants in terms of pricing!

The Gender That Spends More Money On Food

Men spend more on food than women. Not surprised! “You can get to a man’s heart only through his stomach” is true. You don’t believe us? Look at the stats below here’s is the average amount spent on food by each gender,

Men: $78.68

Women: $68.20 

The Age Group That Spends More On Food 

Well, this is surprising. Apparently, 35- to 44-year-olds spend the most on food. Around $ 81.29 to be more precise.

And are also the most frugal Americans. Specific to the 4th of July of course. But anyone over 65 is expected to spend the least.

The 4th of July is America’s largest holiday for drinking. Beer or Wine, people don’t hesitate.

American adults spend close to $1 billion on beer alone, including wine, the amount was estimated to about $1.6 billion.
